Glass balustrade surrounding a Pond, in Sheffield

We love something different so we were delighted to be involved with this project for a customer based in Sheffield to create a glass railing system to surround this pond. We worked closely with a Yorkshire-based, Glass Balustrade fitter to work out which system would work best for this bespoke design. We overcame a few small obstacles, such as height changes and making two different balustrade systems connect seamlessly. The two systems in question are Frameless glass and glass clamps.

The Frameless Glass Balustrade is made up of Origin Architectural’s Quality Fit Base Channel to fix the glass around the edge of the patio. As well as looking amazing, it acts as a safety glass barrier to prevent anyone from falling into the pond, whilst allowing you to see the stunning fish inside, something a normal pond structure would not do.

The customer opted for a handrail on this occasion which helps the balustrade flow as it runs down the stairs and transitions to the base clamps mounted on top on the wall.

The customer loves the end result… and so do the fish ?
