Side Fixed Posts

Side fixing posts are an ideal means of attaching a balustrade to an area when you’re concerned about the free space available, fixing to the facia of your floor allows more floor surface to be available as it opens up the space. Our side fixed posts are pre-fabricated to save on installation time, manufactured to the highest quality with 316 grade stainless steel in a superb brushed satin finish, they arrive completed with relevant D-clamps and handrail saddles.

Available in 42.4mm diameter tube, the side fixed posts use 2 baluster brackets with M10 threads below the floor level to secure into the wall creating a strong connection and ease of installation. It also required less room for fixing points when compared to a traditional slab bracket fixing. 48.3mm side fixed posts are available on request!

Side fixed posts are a popular solution when fixing to mezzanines and staircases, smaller balconies, and smaller decking areas. We would recommend that you fit these side fixing posts to concrete or steel where possible, as these are the two best materials to fit into. In some cases you may be able to fit into timber, however you must discuss this with the person installing your balustrade to ensure it is safe.

1400mm total in height, you have 300mm below floor level to securely fix the posts, whilst still allowing for 1100mm above floor level to ensure you comply to building regulations. The side fixed posts are available in 3 configurations, an end post, and intermediate or ‘mid’ post, and a 90 degree corner post. Our corner side fixed posts arrive with a 90 degree slab bracket to ensure your run stays continuous, with minimal disruption to your side fixed balustrade. Other angles and clamp positions are available upon request as we can manufacture them in house.
