Here at Origin we have one of the widest range of glass clamps in the UK. Whatever your glass thickness, size of tube that you are fitting to or finish we have the glass fittings for you!- The vast majority of our glass fixing clamps are supplied with the rubber gasket (for the correct glass thickness) , metal security pins and plastic screw cover caps as standard.
The starting point in selecting the correct glass clamp is the glass thickness that you want the glass clamp to secure. We stock glass clamps that can hold any glass thickness from 6mm up to 21.5mm glass.
You should next consider the finish to your glass clamp. This depends on the environment in which your glass clamps will be. The finishes that we offer on our glass clamps are as follows:
Grade 304 stainless steel glass clamp (suitable for indoor use).
Grade 316 stainless steel glass clamp (suitable for outdoor use)
Grade 316 Mirror Polished stainless steel glass clamp (suitable for outdoor use in exposed areas such as near to the sea or chlorine)
Zinc chrome glass clamp (suitable for indoor use only)
Zinc raw glass clamp (suitable for indoor use or for powder coating)
Zinc satin finish glass clamp (suitable for indoor use)
The vast majority of our glass clamps are supplied with safety pins. Whatever the thickness of glass that your glass clamp is going to support we would always recommend using the safety pins. Once the glass clamp is tightened, it will tightly grip the glass. The safety pin supplied with the glass clamp offer provide an important additional safety measure to prevent the glass from slipping. When using the safety pin with our glass clamps, the glass obviously needs to have a hole in it through which the safety pin supplied with the glass clamp will sit. You should take care to ensure that the diameter of the hole is correct and that the hole is in the correct position on the glass.
When calculating the width of your glass panel you should take into account the metal piece (or deduction) that sits at the back of the glass clamp between the edge of the glass and the edge of the post or wall. The deduction of our glass clamps, depends on the type of glass clamp that you are using.
