Cross Bar System

Just like our wire rope system, cross bars are a popular alternative to glass systems. Here at Origin, we can offer numerous components which allow the cross bar system to work to the requirements of your installation. Our flexible cross bar components allow for 7 rails to be fitted as standard but it can also work with plain or decorative vertical bars using a simple 2 part adaptor.

Before you start work on your cross bar system, it is important that you select the correct cross bar components. The solid bar for our cross bar system is 12mm in diameter. It is available in both internal and external grades. We can also supply hollow tube for your cross bar system. As with the solid tube, this is available with a diameter of 12mm.

We can supply cross bar holders for your cross bar system which connect the cross bar to the post. The cross bar holders through hole require M6 button heads. The cross bar holders are designed to fix to both a 42mm and 48mm diameter post.

We supply angle joint connectors for use when your cross bar system is going up or down stairs. We can supply an angle joint connector, adjustable cross bar holder or 90 degree radiused elbow cross bar holder. These are only available in grade 316 (an outside grade).

Our cross bar components are made from stainless steel. All stainless steel needs to be properly maintained to prevent residue building up on the cross bar system which can cause it to discolour or pit. We would recommend regularly cleaning the stainless steel that makes up the cross bar system. The frequency of the cleaning required for your cross bar system depends on where the cross bar system is installed.
