Glass Balustrade in Sheffield

Origin Architectural recently worked on a project in Sheffield with Harrogate Superior Glass, on a newly built mezzanine floor level. We chose to keep a strong metal balustrade railing across the top to provide a firm and supportive resting structure should our client wish to lean and look over into the kitchen area. We feel that for this application a frameless glass balustrade would need a little extra stability. (This could have also been achieved by using glass stiffeners in between the plans and connecting the glass to the walls)

The customer also wanted as few uprights as possible, allowing for maximum light penetration of the area and for a very clean modern look. This frameless balustrade system does the job perfectly and the customer is over the moon!

Glass – Tuffx 15mm toughened
